Hemp cannabinoid law takes effect
The Department of Health and Senior Services said in its July 2026 bulletin that House Bill 2641 was signed on April 23, 2026, and is scheduled to take effect on November 12, 2026, barring any federal changes. The bulletin says the bill treats hemp-derived cannabinoid products as marijuana under the state constitution.

State publishes cannabis market study
The Department of Health and Senior Services said on October 15, 2026, that the Division of Cannabis Regulation published a phase 1 cannabis market study. The bulletin says 93 percent of cannabis purchases were in regulated dispensaries, and the study found it is not necessary right now to issue more licenses.
