Illinois Hemp Act takes effect

November 12, 2026

The Illinois Department of Agriculture bulletin says the Illinois Hemp Act, 410 ILCS 707, takes effect on November 12, 2026, and the Industrial Hemp Act is repealed that day. A product with more than 0.4 mg of total THC per container no longer meets the state's definition of hemp.
